Our Mission:  To provide veterans and their families with benefit counseling, referrals, and assistance in a variety of programs.

“Presumptive” Disability Benefits for Certain Groups of Veterans

VA presumes that specific disabilities diagnosed in certain veterans were caused by their military service. If one of these conditions is diagnosed in a veteran in one of these groups, VA presumes that the circumstances of his/her service caused the condition, and disability compensation can be awarded.

When you visit the Veteran Services Office...

Here are a few suggestions on what to bring with you to the Veteran Services Office:

• DD-214 (Discharge papers) For more information on requesting military service records, go to www.archives.gov/veterans/military-service-records/get-service-records.html
• Proof of income for previous calendar year (Tax Statements)
• Date and place of birth for you and a spouse
• Date and place of marriage if applicable
• Social Security numbers for veteran, spouse, and dependents
