Main Street (CSAH 14) from Thrush to Crane Streets in Coon Rapids

Cities Impacted: Coon Rapids

Start Date: June 2010

End Date: July 2011

What we are doing: Key components of the project include:

  • Widen Main Street to four lanes, as well as widen shoulders.
  • Add a center median and dedicated turn lanes.
  • Replace and optimize traffic signals.
  • Replace existing land bridge which spans poor and unstable soils.

How traffic is affected: Temporary lane shifts, road closures. Beginning June 14, 2010 running through May 2011, Main Street (CSAH 14) will be closed to thru traffic between Coon Creek and Hanson Boulevards, with access to local residents only. All non-resident traffic should use the posted detour routes. Detour Map (PDF)

Project Benefits: Improve safety and move traffic more efficiently by improving pavement structure and traffic signal optimization.
