Intersection Reconstruction Projects on MN Highway 47: Cleary Road (CR 66) in Nowthen & 179th Lane (CR 27) in Ramsey

What we are doing: Both projects provide safety improvements along MN Highway 47:

• Cleary Road (CSAH 66) - Adding a bypass lane for traffic traveling north on Highway 47, and adding a right turn lane for traffic southbound on Highway 47 turning onto Cleary Road.
• 179th Lane (CR 27) - Reconstructing the intersection to improve sight lines.

How traffic is affected: Beginning August 16, 2010, Highway 47 will be closed to traffic in both directions between Cleary Road in Nowthen and 179th Lane in Ramsey, with access for local residents only. Construction is anticipated to last 4-5 weeks, weather permitting. All traffic should use alternate routes during construction. Detour Map (PDF)

Project Benefits: The addition of a bypass lane to norhtbound Highway 47 and right turn lane to southbound Highway 47 at Cleary Road will greatly improve traffic flow, as well as improve the safety of the intersection. The reconstruction of the intersection of Highway 47 and 179th Lane will also greatly improve safety by increasing visibility at the intersection.
