Main Street/125th Avenue restricted to one lane in each direction during daylight hours from Crane Street to Ulysses Street from August 22-September 1. See below for more detail.
Cities impacted:
Coon Rapids and Blaine
What we are doing:
The project will reconstruct Main Street / 125th Avenue (CSAH 14) from east of Crane Street in Coon Rapids to west of Ulysses Street in Blaine. Planned improvements include increasing the roadway from two lanes to four, adding a raised median with curb and gutter, constructing a pedestrian trail for the full length of the project, constructing an overpass of the BNSF rail line, and replacing the existing five traffic signals with new signals and appropriate turn lanes.
UPDATE How traffic is affected:
Main Street/125th Avenue is now open to a single lane in each direction from Hanson Boulevard in Coon Rapids to Highway 65/Central Avenue in Blaine, please continue to watch for periodic lane closures through the job site.
Crews have begun paving the final lift of asphalt on the roadway as well as the pedestrian trails, beginning at Crane Street moving east toward Ulysses Street. Starting Wednesday, August 22, Main Street/125th Avenue will be restricted to one lane in each direction during daylight hours in order to allow crews to safely complete paving operations. These lane restrictions are anticipated to be in place through Saturday, September 1. Please use caution when traveling through the project, and expect delays.
Reminder: While the roadway has reopened to traffic, there will be intermittent lane closures and lane shifts until the project is completed inNovember 2012. These closures are necessaryto allow construction crews to safely complete the remaining work, and for motorists to safely move through the construction zone. Motorists are advised to travel through the project with caution, and use alternate routes when possible.
Anoka County and C.S. McCrossan want to thank the local businesses and residents for their cooperation and patience during construction.
