Mission:
The mission of the Anoka County Housing and Redevelopment Authority, in accordance with MN Statutes, Section 469.001, is:

  • to provide a sufficient supply of adequate, clean and safe dwellings in order to protect the safety, health, morals and welfare of the citizens of Anoka County,

  • to clear and redevelop blighted areas,

  • to remedy the shortage of housing for low and moderate income residents, and

  • to provide housing for people of all incomes.

Anoka County Housing and Redevelopment Authority

The Anoka County Housing and Redevelopment Authority (ACHRA) was created in December 1994. Economic development powers were added in June 2007.  The ACHRA is responsible for the administration of federal, state and Anoka County programs.

Housing and Redevelopment Services

ACHRA currently provides housing and redevelopment services to the following communities:

  • Bethel
  • Centerville
  • Columbia Heights
  • Columbus
  • East Bethel
  • Ham Lake
  • Hilltop
  • Lexington
  • Linwood Township
  • Nowthen
  • Oak Grove
  • Ramsey
  • Spring Lake Park
  • St. Francis.

Economic Development Services

ACHRA provides economic development services to the following communities:

  • Centerville
  • Columbia Heights
  • Columbus
  • Hilltop
  • Lexington
  • Linwood Township
  • Nowthen
  • Spring Lake Park
  • St. Francis.

Participation in economic development efforts promotes:

  • a regional approach to projects,
  • improved access to technical assistance and capital,
  • better access to funding programs for business, and
  • reinvestment in commercial neighborhoods through rehabilitation, acquisition, and demolition.
