Anoka County Secure Program

Secure facility for juvenile males

The Anoka County Secure (ACS) houses males ages 13 to 18 years old. Referrals are accepted from courts, corrections and law enforcement agencies.

Description of Service

• Detention Placement pending court order or disposition. The program components are group living skills and behavior management group sessions
• Weekend Program The program provides youth with the correctional institution experience and an opportunity to reflect on the consequences of criminal behavior
• 5-Day to 60-Day Programs Besides the correctional institution experience, these programs require youth to:
  • Complete a behavior contract
  • Participate in confrontational and psycho-educational group programs
  • Develop strategies for anger management
  • Learn to prevent future offenses
  • Examine victimization
• Long-Term Treatment (3 months to 12 months) Males in this program will participate in:
  • An individualized treatment plan
  • Group therapy
  • Confrontational and psycho-educational group sessions
  • Family therapy as needed
  • Parent and teen group sessions
  • Recreation
• Sex Offender Long-Term Treatment (9 months to 18 months) Males in sex specific groups will participate in:
  • Long-term treatment requirements listed above
  • Addressing victimization, addictive cycles, shame, role of fantasy, family issues and boundaries
  • Therapeutic services with a licensed psychologist

ACS, in Lino Lakes, MN, has a total of 50 beds for males 13 to 18 years old. To make a referral, or check daily bed availability, call 651-783-7546.

Juvenile bed openings at our Non-Secure, Secure,  and East Central Regional Juvenile Center, contact us at 651-792-3021. We have placement openings along with programing opportunities for your County's needs.
