Court Services

  • Conducts interviews, criminal history checks, and background investigations for the court.  These investigations may include: pre-sentence investigations, Rule 25 chemical dependency assessment (including alcohol problem assessments), background investigations for domestic abuse and other misdemeanor offenses as well as felony diversion assessments
  • Conducts bail evaluations for use by the court in determining offender release
  • Facilitates pre-trial drug testing
  • Provides information and referral services
  • For juveniles the department also: conducts certification and Extended Juvenile Jurisdiction studies, prepares background reports, and coordinates detention hearings
